Insomniac released a hotfix for Marvel's Wolverine that nerfs the game's “fart gas” — the visible scent trails and audio cues tied to Logan's heightened senses — after the mechanic became a talking point, and a punchline, even before the game shipped.
The studio is reportedly also exploring letting players toggle the effect off entirely, which suggests the backlash landed harder than a throwaway joke usually would. For a superhero game built around Wolverine's senses as a core gameplay hook, tuning down the most-memed part of it without cutting the feature altogether is a careful balancing act.
