Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 released for PlayStation on September 19, 2000 — 26 years ago today. It followed up the original with bigger levels, the manual system, and a soundtrack that's arguably as famous as the game itself.
It's still routinely named one of the best sports games ever made, and its influence is still visible in skating and extreme-sports games made decades later. A good excuse to go look up that Dead Kennedys needle drop again.
