Kieran Trippier turns 36 today. The England right-back — a Euro 2024 runner-up and a fixture at right-back for club and country for most of the last decade — left Newcastle United on a free transfer in June after four years on Tyneside, signing a two-year deal at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves were relegated to the Championship, and Trippier arrived as manager Rob Edwards' first marquee signing of the summer, brought in specifically to help push the club back up at the first attempt. A player with his level of top-flight and international experience playing Championship football is unusual enough on its own to be worth a mention today.
