In the year 50 BC, Gaul is occupied by the Romans - nearly. But the small village of Asterix and his friends still resists the Roman legions with the aid of their druid's magic potion, which gives superhuman strength. Learning of this potion, a Roman centurion kidnaps the druid to get the secret formula out of him.

في عام 50 قبل الميلاد، تقاوم قرية غالية صغيرة الاحتلال الروماني بفضل "جرعة سحرية" تمنحهم قوة جبارة. وتبدأ الأحداث عندما يشك قائد روماني في سر قوتهم، فيرسل جاسوساً لاكتشاف الأمر، مما يؤدي لاحقاً لاختطاف كاهن القرية الذي يعرف السر. يتسلل المحارب الذكي أستريكس وحده إلى معسكر الأعداء لإنقاذ الكاهن، فهل سينجح في تخليصه والعودة للقرية قبل أن يكتشف الرومان سر الجرعة؟
